Help us help others.
There are many ways to support Meals on Wheels Plumstead — from giving your time, to donating food or funds, to partnering with us as a sponsor. Every contribution, big or small, helps us nourish, connect, and care for seniors and vulnerable members of our community.
donations
Every contribution makes a real difference.
Every meal we serve is made possible by the generosity of people who care. Your donation helps cover the real cost of preparing and delivering nutritious meals to seniors who cannot afford even the small fee we charge. We are committed to transparency and use every rand responsibly — ensuring food, dignity, and care reach those who need it most.
While we will gratefully receive once-off donations, the sustainability of our work depends on building up a growing number of people donating on a regular basis, or bequeathing Meals on Wheels Plumstead in their wills. Donations can all be made via our bank account, using the appropriate reference. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Volunteer with us.
At times, depending on fluctuations in volunteer numbers, we invite drivers and hoppers (passenger seat volunteers) to assist with meal deliveries on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings, offering both practical support and a friendly presence.
We also occasionally welcome kitchen and administrative helpers to assist with meal preparation and the day-to-day running of our centre. Every role, big or small, plays a part in ensuring that seniors and vulnerable community members receive nourishment, care, and connection.
If you have regular time to spare and are interested in getting involved, please contact us to find out whether there is a current need for your skills. Download an application form [PDF] via the button below to get the ball rolling. If there are no current openings, we can keep your name on file for when the need arises. For scholars who wish to complete community service hours, we can usually accommodate small groups.
